looking for a Highend Powersupply to power my xfire 7970's
it is not water cooled but has h80. Would like 20-25% over what I would need. Maybe thinking 1000 watt. Problem is Don't know which too choose from. Budget around 250$ Thanks

You can rarely go wrong with a SeaSonic. They are a little expensive, but something like this, at 1000 watts, would probaby meet your needs.

Each of those cards can draw over over 300 watts with a moderate load, so what PSU you buy sort of depends on the rest of your system. Personally, I buy 1000 watt power supplies simply so I can change the build at whim and not have to get a new PSU.

I keep one of these lying around as a spare:

It's been good to me, but PCIE power options are a little limited.

I have a PC Power and Cooling 950w with the 140mm fan currently driving dual overclocked 7950's in crossfire. The CPU is an overclocked Phenom II x6 1090T BE @ 4.0GHz.

With both the CPU and GPUs under load it pulls ~670w from the wall. Your 7970's at stock will be about the same, overclocked maybe another 50-100w.

This PSU has been rock solid, not too expensive and it is QUIET! Even under load the fan is whisper quiet and it stays on 1 min after you shut down to cool the internals off completely.

I'm Running an I-7 950 6x2gb corsair sticks can't remember off hand any other details of them. 3 Sata HDD's, the corsair Chip cooler, 3 large fans and a dvd burner. I figured an 850 Watt would work. But I'm kinda leaning towards 1000+ Watt Because overkill is the best and I want to OC the titties off these 7970's... To bad I'm to lazy to do a liquid build.
