So i was planning on getting a haswell system but i cancelled my mobo order since it would take 1-2 months to ship.

I have the option to go haswell or ivy again and wanting people decisions on what to get.

I have $200 amazon credit so one of the unpurchased parts would be off amazon with that credit.

Here is what i currently have and now im looking for what to get to finish the build, here it is:

what would you recommend for the cpu, mobo, and memory?

I need an i7 for the cpu for the hyperthreading features for my daily video work and i would like it to be fast.

Opted for ivy
Reasons
1. Only 5-10% marginal increase in haswell from ivy
2.haswell produces more heat than 6 core sandy bridge e processors so ivy cpu would b better overclocker
3.there is no news that the 1150 socket would support further generation processors

Are you sure that it is a good PSU? I mean, I have never heard of that company, neither have I seen any reviews for that anywhere. Are you sure that PSU is good? I am somewhat unsure about the PSU. I think he should go for the Seasonic or XFX, that should be good.

PC POWER is owned by OCZ and they use Seasonic for these units.

Okay, that would do.

Also a quick suggestion, go for the Cooler Master Storm Stryker (White). It is one of the most awesome looking and best in functionality case. It is damn cool looking and has awesome performance and features. Something worth going for.

I hope this helps, you can go for the one you like, this was just a small suggestion.

But this board from MSI is a beast when it comes to quality. No problem with this specific board, it is being recommended by most of the reviewers and all the reviews rate it as a good motherboard, so it is not at all a problem. Only budget MSI boards are bad. The top end ones are really awesome.

Anyways you can go for the Extreme 4 or the Gigabyte UD3 if you feel like saving 20-30 bucks. Other than that, this motherboard is a very good motherboard from MSI. No problem with that.

is there any performance difference between the gd65 and the g45? all i noticed was 2 more sata 3 and an msata, is that alone worth $40 difference?

Yes , it has more power phases for better stability under stress and overclocking.

G65 is a hell lot better than the G45. The real thing is inside, the VRM and stuff.

If you want good cheap mobo get gigabyte X-UD3H
Really good buy for 150 $ IMO http://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-motherboard-gaz87...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=...

That too is a great motherboard for the price. It has awesome 8+2 phase VRM which is of very high quality and very well cooled too. So, that too is also a great option. The final thing is that, go for the board which you personally like. It is your build, so the choice should be yours finally.

Some other good motherboards for around that price are :

1. Gigabyte UD3/UD4/UD5
2. Asrock Extreme 4/6/9

Raelly nice fan coltrol feareture and bluetooth + wifi.

Asus' motherboards are very good, but I do not like the current gen ones because the golden theme of those motherboards looks ugly to me. Something that I don't like, but yeah personal preferences of people might vary.

Really the golden colour scheme is very ugly. The black Motherboards looks awesome.
