How to manually uninstall AsMedia 104x usb 3 driver

I installed the latest ASMedia USB 3 driver for XP. It doesn't work. The driver also screws up my USB 2 ports. So I need to uninstall it.

The uninstall directions are useless, they are:

Use the following procedure to uninstall the software:

1. Select 'Uninstall' from the following steps:
- Go to "Start"
- Select "Control Panel"
- Select "Add or Remove Programs"
- Find "Asmedia ASM104x USB3.0 Host Controller Driver",
select it and click the "Remove" button.

you can also use the following procedure to unisntall the
- Go to "Start"
- Select "Program"
- Select "Asmedia Technology"
- Select "ASM104x USB3.0 Driver"
- Click shortcut "uninstall"

Becasue there is no option to "remove program" or "uninstall" as described. They also have a warning in the readme.txt file:

Removal of this software from the system will render any
USB devices inaccessible by the operating system;
therefore, uninstallation procedure will only uninstall
non-critical components of this software (user interface,
start menu links, etc.).

So I need to uninstall the driver manually in a way that won't screw anything else up.

    1) Try this first, "How to Uninstall Drivers in Windows"
Sometime you can't find the uninstall option for the programs, then you need the 3rd party software to uninstall it.
    2) Try the "Driver Detective".
    And the "Uninstall Instructions"
  2. It may be possible to go into the device manager, select USB root hub (and other usb entries), right -click and select "properties". Under the driver tab is a button to "rollback driver".

Reinstalling your chipset drivers may also override the Asmedia.
