Hello,

I want a new rig for gaming that will also work for next-gen gaming.
Time for this build is 2-3weeks.
I'm not interested in OC
What I was having in mind is something along this lines.
INTEL:
CPU:Intel core i7 4770k/or not k
mobo: Gigabyte GA-Z87-HD3
GPU 2x Palit GeForce GTX 760 OR 1 Sapphire AMD Radeon HD7970 Toxic/Vapor X 6gb
RAM KINGSTON ValueRAM DDR3 SDRAM Non-ECC (8GB,1600MHz(PC3-12800),Unbuffered)
Hard disk: SEAGATE HDD Desktop Barracuda 7200 (3.5",2TB,64MB,SATA III-600)
PSU Corsair Gaming Series 2013 Edition, 800 Watt, 80+ Bronze, ATX, PS/2 EU Version
CASE: COOLERMASTER CM 692 Standard, RC-692B-KKN5
Current price is 1700$

I don't really need SSD or other stuff(Keyboard,headset,mouse...)

So is it better have SLI GTX 770 or GTX 780?

For gaming I would go with the i5-4670k, games will not take advantage of the multithreading aspect of the i7 so it's just extra money being spent for no reason. Unless you actually run programs that take advantage of the extra cores like video/image editing or something I would go with the i5. For the amount of money you are putting into this build I would highly recommend an SSD, it's the cheapest item you can add that makes your computer feel completely different and much faster. The 7970 is a great card but if you plan on going with a multi card setup I would stick with nvidia, either 770 SLI or a single 780 will let you play games on ultra @ 1080 easily.

i care about now and future. What diffrence would it make in let's say Battlefield 3 if i go with 1 780 or 2 770.Would i be able to play with both configs. at ultra in 60 fps?If yes.Would it be better to get 1 780 now and later next year get 2nd one.or get double 770 now?Cuz i am planning to upgrade again in 1 year. Not from scratch like now but add some extra coolers, ssd maybe and cosmetic upgrades,leds-.--

Whatever.

a 780 will run everything as it is he can save the rest of the money for something else anything actually. why add to the performance if there is no need at all?????????????????????????????

dude a GTX 660 will max battlefield 3.
a 780 will last you 3 blasted years. then i assume theres gonna be a GTX 980 or 880 get one of those and so on. no much to it than that.

im suggesting a 780 because you never know what will comeout sooner or later,(yeah he could upgrade but why?)
now everyone likes to get higher FPS they like the numbers lol so i suppose he would too.
if you get avg 45 whats your minimum? that doesnt sound like such a nice one now does it?
i assume 29 but i may be wrong. i myself am planning on a GTX 770 gaming series from msi or an ASUS 7970 matrix not sure though.

I don't care about ultra high numbers. My monitor is 60Hz so i don't need more then 60 fps atm.But i want it to last so I can still play on ultra in the next years @ 60 fps.

as far as i know its impossible to have a pc that will 100% surely get 60FPS for few years. you might get on crysis 3 60 fps ( i dont know i never really checked) but lets say if theres crysis 4 or battlefield 5 it will reduce to 30-50 in my >opinion<

$2k for next-gen games? I would try this: 8 core cpu; a lot of RAM and SSD/HD space; 4GB video card; gold PSU. Something like that:

the 8350 might count as "future proof" since games use more cores in time but it will be outclassed in every way when the newer CPU's at the same price as a 4670k come out in few years. theres still no use for SLI becoz he will upgrade anyways in 3 years or so ( hes willing within 1 year which is even better) a 780 will max out everything on ultra right now and if not in a year then high settings at that point. what i like most is the SSD, its 480GB of super fast access to things.

Avilash you need to relax. stop shouting and getting mad like some ape.
5 years of max settings and decent FPS? your dreaming. if now theres a game that demanding (crysis 3) later on in the future its gonna be WAY more demanding.
