I'm building a new system. I only need a 320gb HD. I've noticed that the best value seems to be the 500gb and the 1TB drives. All in the $60 range. Is there any advantage or disadvantage in a smaller (500gb) over a larger one such as speed. The ones I'm looking at are....

Western Digital WD5000AZRX Caviar Green 500GB $60

Western Digital WD10EZEX Caviar Blue 1TB Hard Drive (64MB cache) $60

What do the WD colors (Green, Blue, Black) mean???????:??:

Seagate ST500DM002 Barracuda 3.5" Internal 500GB Hard Drive $60

Seagate ST1000DM003 Barracuda 1TB, 64MB cache Hard Drive (any advantage with 64MB cache vs 32MB or 16MB .... this one is $70

So what is the best value for an average desktop machine. :)

Please add any others

Solution
Green = economy, lower performance
Blue = mid range, average performance
Black = High performance, faster.

Best value? Well if you can get twice the storage for only $10.00 more, I'd go that way.

Usually, a 1TB drive will have a faster access time than a 500GB drive.
The more cache, the higher performance the drive.
