Is 86 degrees too much for a 7870?

Hi guys!
I know there are tons of questions on the forum like this but none of seem to answer my question completely. I've recently upgraded my 4870x2 to a 7870 and the card performs pretty well I guess. I do have a couple of temperature questions though.
It idles at about 34-38 degrees and under load (like when playing crysis, total war etc.) the gpu temp reaches a maximum of 86 degrees. Is this okay for this kind of gpu? And what temperature would you say is the absolutely max? And I don't mean when it shuts down but more like when the durability of the gpu decreases or something like that (for example, is 90 degrees absolutely unacceptable?). Hope u guys can help me :)

86 is a little bit on the high side but it's not too high. You should start worrying when it creeps over 90, it will shut off shortly past 100.

You should probably work on your airflow a bit.

Obligatory: I assume that all units are in centigrade correct?

thanks for the answer! Yea it celsius :)
I'll try to work on my airflow and try to get it more close to the 80 degrees celsius

75 to 80 is a very normal operating range for most cards with stock coolers. I'd be more concerned if it was in that range with a nice aftermarket or third party cooler.

That Sounds extremly low. Are they water cooled or something? Hmm I guess my airflow is okay. The only lack I Can Think of is that some of the unused cables from the powersupply might be blocking some of the inflowing air.
