500r vs 650D

Solution

hows the stock fans on 500r?
i heard they are bad and you need to replace them...[/quotemsg]

I honestly have no idea, but the front is open on the 500R but closed on the 650D/800D

for air cooling I would go with the 500R. For water cooling I would go with the 650D/800D[/quotemsg]

so i will probably go with 500r

yup. If you're watercooling its all about air pressure, which makes the 650D/800D more desirable

Stock fans are moderate. The front fans do not match the 90CFM of sickle flow cooler master but they aren't that bad. The side fan is 200mm and provides good airflow.

Former 500R owner. I loved the case and it's great for air cooling. If, however, you're looking for a better aircooling case then the Corsair Air 540 will be a better case than the 500R in terms of airflow. If you do end up going for the 500R, change the fans. They're not terrible, but they're not great either.

Good luck!

I currently own a Corsair 350D. I scaled back to a Micro ATX case which is also good for airflow. I wanted a smaller case as I figured out that I will not be having anything more than a single powerful GPU and a sound card. I have no plans to SLI/Crossfire. All the Carbide series of cases from Corsair are good for airflow. The Vengeance C70 case is also another good case in terms of airflow. If I was going to build a strictly air cooled PC, I'd go for the Air 540. Even if you're planning to watercool your rig in the future the Air 540 will still suit your needs.
