Building a new computer with 128gb Samsung 840 pro for boot up. Now I need a hard drive, I only need at least 250gb space. I know there's like a 80% chance it might be doa or defected and lose my data but I have a very tight budget and I already gone way above my budget. I was wondering if I could buy 2 hdd because , 1 for my programs and 1 for fraps but looks like that not gonna happen cause it is too expensive. If I want to buy a new hdd I have to lose my $30 fan controller. I have 5 fans and I game a lot. But I use fraps and I need the space to put in. IDK what I should do. I rlly rlly rlly want 2 hdd but it gotta be refurb both with warranty. will warranty recover the lost data if my drive fails?

Solution
If you are on a budget, buy the Samsung 840 non pro. The performance in a desktop is the same, just less endurance.
A pro might be good for 15 years, non pro for 10. By then, both will be obsolete.

If it is a factory refurb with a warranty, I would not worry so much.
If you really value some data, make certain that you have some sort of EXTERNAL backup.
That will protect you from viruses, malware, fire etc.
