will there be any way (adapter?) to change 2 pcie x16 2.0 slots into one pcie 3.0 slot?

Asus released a motherboard for am3+ which basically has this built in. But it is expensive. Would an adapter be possible to make

it's not a matter of adapter... the bandwidth on the slot is different. in the coming months, hopefully other manufacturers will release motherboards with PCIe 3.0 slots too for AM3+
