Hi everyone!
So I have this old media center PC
(specs: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00585745&tmp_task=prodinfoCategory&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=1818343#N956 )
and I wanted to be able to watch HD videos on it, so I bought an asus HD 5450 card for $35. I slipped it into the open PCI E x16 slot on the mobo and no luck. Absolutely nothing will show up on the monitor when plugged into the asus card. My old GeForce 6200SE works in one of the PCI slots, as long as the new asus isn't in the tower. If it is, I can't get the geforce to work either.
I tried going into the BIOS and changing the default video adapter setting to PCI E instead of PCI, still no luck on the asus in the PCI E slot. GEforce still works fine..
Could it be a problem with my PCIE slot? I don't think it's been used since I got the computer 7 or 8 years ago now. Also thinking maybe the asus card which is PCI E 2.1 may not work in the PCI 1.0 slot..
Any ideas?
