I have been having problems with my computer over the past year since I got my new video card. It's an ATI Radeon 5770. Unfortunately I do not remember the manufacturer's name. Ever since the beginning when you played games the screen began to flicker and tear. The mouse was always fractured after this happened. If you let it do this for a long amount of time it would eventually get worse and worse until the screen completely froze and blue, black and purple spots would appear on the screen. Shortly after this it would crash, although oddly if you made it out of the program the normal desktop would be fine. It used to only do this to graphically intensive games. Now however it happens to games from Civilization V to Roller Coaster Tycoon 3. At first i thought it was a driver problem but after re-installing it 4 times it's safe to assume that isn't the problem. Next I tried changing the Power Supply Unit from 400w to 650w but that wasn't it either. So now i want to know, what is the problem? And is it fixable or should I just go out and buy a new Graphics card? Thank you for taking the time to answer.
