I need "Safe to Remove Hardware"

I used a program to remove advertisement on a 1GB stick that was taking up 300 MB of space. Now I don't the the option anymore to remove the hardware that pops up in the XP taskbar. None of my USB drives plugged in give me the option anymore, and I literally have to just yank out my drives which I know is not good for any of my drives. I think the program was flash genius or something like that.
Can anyone help me please.

I did what you suggested and I'm sorry to say it did not work for me. Any other suggestions on resolving this issue?

No Restore point. It was too long ago, but I will fish out the backup drive that the program is sitting on and try to see what I can dig up.
