Don't save the case - pure garbage, no air circulation and headache with on/off switch, so another $30-40 will make you feel like a king compare to this slave.

any mATX motherboard will fit, but you have be sure that the front panel connectors will fit the new motherboard. and yes, definitely replace the old power supply.

and unless you get a mother board that will take your old hard drive and dvd drive, then yeah you will have to replace them. that or get some adapter to connect to the old drives.

Good idea, leave it as back up PC. I always have 2 PCs, in case if one goes South, I am using another one to fix the broken one and so on.
