Long story short - installed new SSD in system, booted into Windows 8 installer, formatted SSD, now after restart my PC is giving me a "BOOTMGR Missing" error message. And I can't get it to go past the basic install screen.

The new SSD is an OCZ Vertex 4, and the old one was a Samsung 830. If you need the rest of the configuration, the link to my system on PC Part Picker is in my signature.

What do I do in this situation? I've been trying to figure this out all night and can't get it.

Solution
This has happened to me before too. I fixed it by using a Windows repair disk (I used my Windows 7 installation CD). If you don't have a Windows 8 installation CD, you could make one using another Windows 8 PC: http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-1653112/make-windows-repair-disc.html

Another option you might try would be installing your old SSD first, add your new SSD as a secondary drive, then set your new drive as the primary drive, then remove your old drive.

Also, I found this resource from the Windows website, it may be helpful: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2622803
Can you still boot from your Installation Media? I found the most reliable 'clean' install was to delete all partitions on the SSD until you have nothing left but Unallocated Space, then allow Windows to install without formatting etcetera.

Yeah right now in the BIOS I have it set so my BD-R drive is the first boot device with the SSD being second and the mechanical HD being third.

Did my solution help? If worst comes to worst, you might need to just reinstall Windows - that should do it.
