Been having some issues. During certain games and sometimes during normal media viewing and browsing I am getting graphical artifacts/freezes followed by the "AMD driver has stopped.... and recovered" error notice. Sometimes this even causes a BSOD. So I thought it was a driver problem and have uninstalled and installed new and older drivers multiple times making sure to COMPLETELY remove the old ones. BUT the weird part is that sometimes after this happens, the system goes into a reboot loop that crashes at various points during or right after POST. This problem is usually fixed if I let the system sit for several hours. This led me to think it was a heat issue, but I have been checking temps and they are not getting anywhere near problematic levels. This leaves me to just guessing. I figured the PSU was the next most likely problem followed by the GPU. I just ordered a new PSU and GPU so hopefully that will fix it, but can anyone think of another factor here?

My specs are :
AMD 1055T X6
Radeon 5870
4 GB Ram
Asus M4A79XTD EVO

Maybe the GPU is headed south, do you have a different PSU or could you borrow one to test with, if all OK with it then it's the PSU, if same problems then would guess GPU, could then see about trying a different video card

Possibly. Worth replacing anyway. Could also be the VRMs on the GPU, those tend to wear down a bit if they get too hot. After 5 years they may be unstable.
