I Hate Outlook Express II

Ok; now that it has shown up, I can ask the question again. I hate OE since they changed it but must use it to send documents. All the emails I had in it have disappeared and there is no Send button. Nothing comes in and I can't send anything. Thanks for any help.

  1. Try Mozilla Thunderbird as an alternative or, if you have MS Office, Outlook. Depending on your ISP or e-mail service provider, webmail is another possibility.
  2. Are you asking for help or whinging? I cant see any question in that rant. BTW what the hell is Outlook Express II? I cant say i've heard of it.

If you don't like the program, find another one that you do like. Pretty simple.
  3. I assumed he was referring to Windows Live which is the "grown-up" version of OE.
  4. I would suggest paying an IT Professional for support in the matter of retrieving your lost emails.
    - There are far to many possibilities and giving 'general advice' over the Internet comes with 'absolutely no warranty', as you follow any advise given 'at your own risk'.

This may make the problem far worse, or even may make it impossible to get your mail back.

That goes without saying and your post does little more. It's also why here at Tom's we have systems that show the value of a poster's history so a new poster can see if their advice is trustworthy or a waste of time.

In this instance we haven't even established whether the OP's .dbx files are in place and intact. Data are not considered lost until their whereabouts cannot be proved.

Some more detail may help, what does "it has shown up" mean? Did you setup the new email client to link to your email account? Did you change computers? Were you old emails saved locally on the hard drive or on the email server of whatever email service you use?
