Hi guys how are you?

First of all sorry if i'm posting at weong place and sorry dor my poor english, i'm from Brazil

So let's see if someone can help me

I have a Gigabyte GAZ77XD3H mobo and i had a stable overclock at 4.5 with my 3770k

Yesterday i made a bios update to the latest one the F17f (A beta bios) but i forgot to save or note my OC specs at bios and i forgot some steps

I can't remember if i used about 1.23 or 1.30 fixed vcore to stabilize at 4.5 i remember that i used the loadline calibration on Turbo, the CPU Pll at 1.5 ( Now i bumped to 1.65 just to be safe, should i go back to 1.5?) i disabled the c1 c3 and all this stuffs and disabled the tubo boost

So do you guys recommend me to do anything else in this OC? Should i make some other changes or that's all? I think the vcore i used was 1.23 but i can't really remember and i really don't wanna spend again a lot of time with stress tests, last time i spent about 19 hours prime and 20 passes Ibt max memory size

Any help will be nice, and just to you know guys i'm using a H100i push/pull cooling system

Thanks

Solution
Will all rigs being different, especially on voltages, there is no definite settings, just rebuild your OC slowly, take your time and keep notes of where you've been settings wise and the results

It would be nice if you included the missing information for this 4.5ghz OC running P95 for 19 hours and 20 passes IBT max memory size?

What load temperatures???????????????????

Yep didn`t get it

Now i can`t get again the Oc stable, always losing video at IBT the driver crashes the aero is gone and after some seconds the desktop revives, and sometimes i got BSOD

Tried with PLL 1.65 LLC Turbo Thermal stuffs disabled and turbo off vcore 1.23

What should i try now guys?

Thanks

Thanks

I`m doing everything correct but when running IBT the monitor goes black and i loose the video and after a couple of seconds the video comes back and i receive a message that the video driver has crashed cane back working with sucess

This not happens playing games or running some video benchs like heaven or 3dmark....

Any ideia?

Thanks

I tried with the old bios, i made a downgrade and happened the same, i`m getting scared about it, always the same thing with both bios, no crashes playing or doing benchs like the ones i said but with IBT this is happening, downloaded again the IBT in other links and nothing

Yep XMP profile

It`s a Gskill one 2400Mhz 2x8, i saw at my MB site and the memo i`m using is certificated i don`t know if it means something but....

The problem is that i was stable before buying this new memos and the news 780`s the PSU is a good one a Coolermaster SilentPro 1200w Gold

Thought you said the problems started with the BIOS upgrade, if the DRAM and GPU are new then whatever settings you had wouldn't be good now, if DRAM is 2400 then may well need that VCCSA adjustment both to help with DRAM and with GPU...also with 2400 sticks a OC is of he CPU is recommended to aid the MC (memory controller) and the 2400 sticks, start with just a minor one 4.1 or 4.2, neither of which should take a lot of vCore

For 4.2 can i just let everything default and just increase the turbo boost from 39 to 42? Is ita good idea? Or fix at 42 the multi?

I remember that for 4.2 i can leave everything on auto, at least in my old memos and VGA

Will it be harder now to stabilize the OC at 4.5 with the 2400 sticks and the 780's? I don`t know if it started when i changed the bios because i has stabilized before buying the new stuffs, maybe i was using the system till now with this issues and did not know because i never tried IBT again after made the OC worked for 20 Passes IBT and 19 hours prime in the old Rig

Thanks again

But let everything auto and the turbo 42 or set the multi 42 and some fixed vcore?

If to set a vcore start with how much?

Thanks again

It would be wise to know where his load temperatures are running before advising further, but that obviously went over both your heads.

You can always try less voltage, IMO you're using too much voltage, try 1.125 for a 4.5ghz clock and on boot failure increase the voltage one bump at the time until you find a stable setting to use.

Your load temperatures are an important relation as to how far you'll actually get!

I'm getting BSOD with 1.24 and PLL 1.65 trying the latest bios don't know what to do more, tried everything already

Don't think it went over anybody's head, it simply didn't and doesn't make sense, unless you are assuming that everybody

"It would be nice if you included the missing information for this 4.5ghz OC running P95 for 19 hours and 20 passes IBT max memory size?

What load temperatures???????????????????"

That everyone in the world jots down and saves their info, very few do, and load temps won't tell you anything about what voltages were used

And this would be your very first post in this thread!

What exactly are the results you're referring to, most of us overclocking have temperatures at the top of the list?

Excessive load temps will be a direct indication too much voltage is being used and too much voltage is the fastest way to destroy a CPU!

How did you possibly become a moderator?

Sure as heck isn't longevity at THGF, since you joined June 4, 2013 You haven't even been a member of THGF for 2 months yet?

God help this place! :pfff:

Do you really hang on to that stuff over the years, even months, you reach a stable OC and toss the stuff, some might keep the final results, but those are generally builders like me who do it as part of the business, and as stated - it's good for that system at that time and that's it....I've done multiple builds of identical systems for businesses groups etc and seldom to never are the final setups the same as far as settings/voltages - they all may be running 4.4 but all with different vCores, PLLs, VTT etc......

As far as me being a mod, the folks here approached me, I already have plenty on my plate, I'm here to keep up with all the hardware available and to help folks, and I generally think I make sense when I ask questions......as mentioned before - regardless of what the temps were when he tested, it doesn't tell you ONE single thing about what the voltages were, regardless of the model of CPU, they are all individual, some might OC easily to 4.8, others can't hit 4.8 at all, some can only go 4.4 or 4.5 and take a few of them at 4.5 good possibility they all have different vCores and different PLLs, and other different voltage settings there is no magic set voltage
