Hello everyone. I am starting university in Denmark in about a month and i'm in the market for a new laptop. I've done some research and found two that I really like. They are as follows:

Asus N56DY
15.6" 1920 x 1080
2.1 GHz AMD A8-5550M
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600
AMD Radeon HD 8750M W/ 2gb GDDR3
750 GB HDD 5400RPM

You can see it here:

Or

Asus S56CB
15.6" 1366 x 768
1.8GHz Intel Core i5 (3rd gen) 3337U
8 GB DDR3 RAM @ 1600
NVIDIA GeForce GT 740m - 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM
750 GB HDD 5400RPM

You can see it here:

I know these laptops have different features but i'm most curious about which would have the best performance. I like to play games and do some video rendering.
I'm also aware that there are i5 and i7 with Nvidia graphics cards models of the N56 but they are very expensive in Denmark
Any input is appreciated !
Thanks!
-Steven

Solution
Depends on the resolution you want and how bad lower resolutions look on the 1920x1080 model.

Once you're at 1366x768 the GPU isn't going to be holding benchmarks back much anyway.

I also came up with the same results from CPU/GPU Boss. Are there any problems with having an AMD Cpu in a laptop, such as application support or anything?
The 740m is indeed more powerful. But I read on Notebook Check that the i5 3337U puts a bottleneck on it because it's Ultralow voltage. Do you think this is true?

I was more leaning towards the i5 and 740m. The AMD and 8750 are ranked lower on Notebook Check.

Yea that's another thing, I can use the native res with the N56CB.

The only thing that worries me now is the ULV i5, and that it's clocked so low. (1.8GHz) Has anyone heard anything negative about that?

***UPDATE***
I just read on notebook check that the i5 3337U has a worse score in Cinebench R10 than the i7 620m... from 2010.. the first mobile i7.
