Hello,

I am just wondering if the drivers for windows xp and windows xp professional are same in most cases?
Can I use the drivers meant for Windows XP Professional , for Windows XP Home as well?
Thanks for replying!!

Solution
Yeah, Windows XP (x86-32 bit) drivers are identical between Home and Pro versions.
- Some drivers might only work under Professional but they're mostly for dual-CPU socket motherboards.

Windows XP Professional is also available in a x64 Edition, the drivers for x64 are not compatible with the x86-32bit drivers.

Hi Tabris!
I was actually looking for driver support on HP Website for my laptop where I do not have an option to choose Windows XP Home as OS. It starts with Windows XP Professional. And I need to install Windows XP Home on my system, the reason I wondered whether it should be okay to install Professional version drivers. Thanks for your reply :)

One more question:
Is it the same case with Windows Vista Home Basic and Windows Vista Home Premium? Thanks!
