Hello everyone!
Just received my new PC, and don't know what OS to get.
i5-4570,
GTX760,
8GB Crucial Ballistix,
Gigabyte H87M-D3H

I've read some of the threads regarding the topic, but still have trouble understanding the pros and cons of the given OS.
Since it's a new build, new gen of processors, and a new series of gpu, what would be the better choice?
I mean the DX stuff, compatibility with older software, UI and such..
Thanks!

7 and 8 pretty much have the same performance and compatability game wise, it is the aesthetics that are mostly different without getting into the major technical changes.

If you can get along with Windows 8, get it. Aside from the surface, it has many advantages over 7, like faster boot-up and better explorer functions.

But I still didn't switch to 8, because the Modern UI is just annoying. For a desktop system I would recommend 7, since it's optimized for them and not for tablets.

Windows 8 supports DX11.1 which can boost CPU preformance in games, this will be good for you in future games since you didn't get a "K" version of the i5 (unless you omitted it).
