I'm lost.

Support for DDR3 3000(O.C.) / 2933(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2600(O.C.) / 2500(O.C.) / 2400(O.C.) / 2200(O.C.) / 2133(O.C.) / 2000(O.C.) / 1866(O.C.) / 1800(O.C.) / 1600 / 1333 MHz memory modules

So what does that mean?
Is it just fine Words. I can only put 1333/1600Mhz no matter what??

Or does it mean. It's possible to Overclocking the 1600Mhz to 3000Mhz?? (I will not do that)

Or does it mean. It's possible to Set the Mobo to overClock. So the Mobo support 3000Mhz??

Or does it mean. I can just set somekind of ddr-3 ram in. The mobo will Slef find the right speed??

Or what??

My new bord is a GA-Z87X-UD5H
Mobo. specification:

Solution
What it means, simply, is that the mobo and the chipset are capable of running 3000 rated DRAM...The key is you need a CPU capable of running 3000 DRAM which basically is only an overclocked 4770K...overclocking DRAM above it's spec has nothing to do with this...it's simply the specs of what the mobo is capable of. (with the proper CPU, you aren't going to be able to do it with just any Haswell, even the 4670K is doubtful of being able to run 3000, only the 4770K

It states that you can put a RAM with up to 3000mhz latency. It's not for the CPU, but for the RAM. It's for the RAM compatibility. Need we say more?

So for example you buy a RAM with 2133mhz latency, then OC it up to 2666, then it will still be ok.

It means if your RAM was capable of it your motherboard can run it at those speeds

Its rare for faster RAM to make a noticeable improvement in system performance . Its even rarer for it to be cost effective

Use 1600 Mhz RAM with timings no higher than 9-9-9-24 , and 1.5 volts or LOWER

Hello,:hello:

No, you can put upto 3000MHz speed if you have an unlocked processor (k model cpu; i7-4770k). If you install anything above 1600MHz then it is considered as overclocked memory but the default speed will be 1600MHz. So you will have to manually set the memory speeds to its rated speed in the BIOS either through XMP profile or manually (like if you install 2133MHz probably it will run @1600MHz so you need to set it to 2133MHz).

Hope that helps.

Thanks there. All of you.

Nice!! I just got the 4770K home today :)

Found some few type. Like:
2x8GB. 1600Mhz. CL7. 8-8-8-24. 1.35 V.
2x8GB. 1600MHz. CL8. 8-8-8-24. 1.5 V
2x8GB. 1866MHz. CL9. 9-9-9-27. 1.5 V.
TridentX F3-1600C7D-16GTX. 2x8GB. 1600 MHz. CL7. 7-8-8-24. 1.5 V.

The Trident X F3-1600C7D is the fastest as I can under stand.
Yet. The 1866MHz. CL9. 9-9-9-27. 1.5 V. sounds for me as the nr1. ?!?(I'm not sure)
Anyway it's so small numbers. I'm sure any of them is nice :)

Btw. Im Building a Game PC with help from this Awesome site here. (This is only my 2nd. post)
My System so far: :)
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1751202/high-end-gaming-system-3500-2nd-gen-4th-gen.html

( (Updated aug.1. This has become my new Watercooled game rig so far. Bought:
Case: NZXT SWITCH 810 GUNMETAL
CPU: Intel Core i7-4770K Haswell
Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-Z87X-UD5H - Haswell. Thanks to this site)

CPU Cooler: Phobya CPU-Cooler UC-2 LT Intel 775,1155,1156,1366,2011 - Black
Radiator: Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 420mm (Push-Pull)
Microsoft Windows 7 Prof. 64-bit SP1.
And a lot of small Things. (fititngs, fans, tubes, anti-kinking spring, etc etc.))

Im not done yet.
Thanks

On the DRAM the Tridents are the best overall, they have the tightest CL at stock and most all of these 1600/7 sets OC easily to 2133 if desired....I started using the Tridents when they came out (run the 32GB 2400 set in my Z77, and planning either 2666 or 2800 in my upcoming Haswell (like you still deciding all ;) ))

When you first install the i7-4770K, the memory support is 1333/1600MHz right? So without over-clocking the processor, it will not support the 2133MHz or 3000MHz memory kit? What if we use the XMP profile to set the correct 2133MHz or 3000MHz speed. Will the CPU automatically adjust its memory controller to sync with the memory at 2133MHz or 3000MHz? Or the CPU still work at 1333/1600MHz regardless of what the XMP profile setting?

How to overclock the memory controller, without overclocking the CPU (stays at default 1600MHz)? While keeping the memory kit set to XMP profile of 2133MHz at XMP voltage (no manual intervention).
