Hey guys,

I have a Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD3P motherboard. I currently have a samsung HD502HJ 500gb hard drive as primary/master and I just purchased a Western Digital Caviar WD10EZEC-00ZF5A0 1TB hard drive and its assigned as slave. The new secondary hard drive is not showing up in MY COMPUTER at all. Windows said it installed the device when windows started up. It shows up in my device manager along with my samsung. Says its location is Location 1 (Channel 1, Target 1, Lun 0) whatever that means.

The samsung HD says its in location 0, channel 0, target 0, and lun 0. I am not sure what to do here. I have not set up raid, i just plugged in the new one and rebooted.

From what I remember my bios is set up as boot priority Hard Drive, Hard Drive, CD ROM, USB.

in hard drive in bios, shows master as samsung and slave as WDC HD.

I opened computer management and found the drive as Disk 1 Basic with 931.51GB and showed online. Space says unallocated. My options are to convert to dynamic disk, convert to GPT disk, create a new simple volume.

Not sure why I can not access the drive in my computer. Please let me know as I do not have many days to return this hard drive and its a 2 hour drive for me. Thanks guys

I just figured it out thank you. Had to go under computer management, and to partition and format. Now it works and shows up. Thanks its been a long time since I have done this.
