Hi All,

not sure if this is possible but is there anyway to setup a VPN or Remote desktop on a windows 8 surface pro device to control a PC running windows 7 on the same network?

Basically I want to control the PC from my surface device and see the pc's desktop and programs that are running, etc.

enable remote desktop on the windows 7 pc and then use remote desktop connection manager on the windows 8 machine to connect to it.

hey so I got the the remote desktop working however it logs me off from the win7 pc. Is there a way to have a simultaneous session from the win 8 surface and keep the pc functional?

main purpose of this is to control the music playing from my pc remotely on the surface, once i am remote logged in the sound streams through the surface and I want to keep the sound through the PC which is connected to large speakers.

Is this possible?

no, if you use a remote session windows is only licensed for one client to be connected to the pc at a time so either remotely or directly.

if you want remote music control i am sure there is an application that supports this somewhere.
