Hey folks. Going to be doing my first build next week (parts on order now) but I'm trying to decide which SSD to go with. Read a ton of reviews and articles. My general impression is, amongst the name brands not a TON of difference for general use, get the best buy. But at the same time, I know that you folks have some preferences too based on your experiences. Right now the Sandisk Ultra Plus 128g is 96 dollars and reviews quite well. The Samsung Pro seems to be stellar and appears to be the general darling everywhere I look. It's 122$ though.

Is the Sammy worth 25% more (26$) than the Sandisk for general users?

Or should I just wait for the Sammy EVO?

I have the sandisk ultra plus 128GB as my OS/main storage. It works perfectly and is certainly fast and got a good review from toms as a great value. My startup is usually around 12 seconds and in my opinion I'd rather save the $30 or so unless you have a strong preference for samsung. If I had to choose again I would make the same choice and save the $30 bucks.

Blast!!! If only you could have replied earlier. I ordered the Sammy an hour ago. Thank you for the feedback though.

Eh don't sweat it. The 840 pro is technically the best there is so you will have peace of mind, but the margin is so small between it and the competition that as I said before I would prefer the $30 bucks.
