Steel Battalion Controller Needs Repair

This was the only place I thought I MIGHT find an answer.

I bought a copy of Steel Battalion for the original XBOX brand new in package online. Unfortunately, the left joystick (which is only supposed to go left and right, not 360 degrees) thinks it's sitting further right that it is, so if I have it centered, I'm turning to the right onscreen. Anyone have any clue how I can fix this? The company that sold the replacement parts has been out of business for like 10 years.

As you know, there are several on-line sources for the game/controllers/etc, such as:

http://www.steelbattalion.org/controller.php

Doing some digging, I couldn't find any good sources to help with physical repairs. If it was me, I would disassemble the controller and look at the contacts/connections of the offending part of the controller and see what could be causing the problem (and possibly fix it).

You may (sadly) just bought a defective part. Good luck!
