In terms of a gaming laptop (ordering custom Sager NP8250) will the nvidia gtx 770m with 3gb ram be sufficient for games coming out in the next year plus? Specifically bf4, watchdogs, gta5,etc. Ultra settings are not super important. Furthermore, what type of hard drive or potential hybrid drive should I consider? Thank you all for tolerating my incompetence in terms of electronics. I have read through other posts and would appreciate more input. Being deployed pays well, but I'm still cheap. I am trying to keep this in the 1500 dollar range (I know, won't get much), so all the advice I can get would be much appreciated.

For Games, this is what you can currently expect (just schoot down and on left side you will see approx FPS for many games. - Future requires my Xstall ball which is currently all FOGGED Up - LOL.

On SSD, AS indicated ONLY speeds up reads and writes to disk.
That said, ALL my Systems (three desktops and two laptops) have SSDs, and I would ever consider going back to a HDD.

Example:
System - 17" laptop, i5-2410m w/540m dGPU, 8 gigs ram, Bluray/DVDRW drive and daul SSDs.
.. Windows 7 - Hit power on and Webpage displayed - APROX 15 Sec
.. Windows 8 - Hit power on and Webpage displayed - APROX 8 Sec

You will be able to run the next gen games however, don't expect to run smoothly on Ultra settings. I would say medium settings would suffice.

Always consider SSD because first of all less space which makes ultrabooks highly sought for.

Even as of August 1st, 2013, the fastest laptop or ultrabook will still not keep up with the 3770K/4770K setups out there with 670 or 770 Gtx and above.

I have to say, that was quite helpful, thank you. What would you estimate the effect on performance to be with a 240GB Intel Solid-State Drive 520 Series SATA III 6Gb/s installed?

My Personal preference for Laptop SSD is Samsung 840 Pro, While performance is great, it was the Low power consumption for this choice.
IE Big diff in Benchmark for Samsung 40 Pro vs Curcial M4 - BUT in REAL Lift hard pressed to tell the difference. M4 is a great 2nd choice.

PS Have 3 Crucial m4s, 3 Samsung 830s and 2 Samsung 840 Pros... Plus just a few others ( about 7).

SAGER IS THE BEST EVER!!! I have a Sager 8880 custom from 2002 and it still works. It even has a full desktop socket and P4 2.2GHz chip which isnt soldered to the board! Sager is the best way to go right now
