Installing to and running W7 off a flash (thumb) drive

I am checking to see if there is any way to install W7 to and run off a usb flash drive. I want to be able to externally boot windows on multiple clone systems to test the components of each system for functionality.

You can install from a USB stick using the MS USB Tool but you cannot run Windows 7 from a USB stick. I think that you can using Windows to Go in Windows 8 like THIS..
