Found Windows 7 disc in my house, not sure if its used.

title says it all. The disc is in its box but the box is open, no one in the household knows if it is used. I was about to build a new computer and I might use the disc but how do I know if it is already used?

It's not a question of whether or not the disc has been used, but a question of the license key which should be on/in the box.

If you can find the sticker with the license key, you can check if the key is in use on one of the computers.

Generally, a license key can be used on up to three machines, but sometimes this is different.

If you want to know for sure whether or not you can use a given license key to activate a windows install, call Microsoft's customer support :)
