I'm looking for a midrange graphics card, preferably Nvidea because they are the most common, for around £100/$150. I'm looking for a multimedia laptop around £700/$1000 and I need a decent GPU to handle SOME games like SRTT and SimCity with ease on medium/high settings. I just need to know what GPU to look for so I choose the right laptop. A selection or category would be helpful (e.g. GTX...etc) Many thanks!

At that price you can probably get a good laptop with a GT750M which fits the definition of a midrange mobile graphics card.

I really like the Lenovo IdeaPad y500 series. They've got a neat setup where you can swap the optical drive for a second graphics card to run a mobile SLI. Say goodbye to your battery life if you do that though.

Edit: did a bit more digging. You can can get a Sager with a GTX765M for just over $1000USD

And here's the link to the Lenovo I was talking about

Actually that sounds pretty decent as I need it as more of a desktop replacement than a mega portable device. Do you think I could get anywhere near it for £600/$900?

EDIT: Would you rate the $819.99 one, I cant see a lot of a difference between all of them apart from the addition of an SSD

The Ideapad y500 for $819.00 has a smaller display. I would at least spring for the 949.00 one as it has a full HD display unless you are hooking this up to an external monitor in which case it doesn't matter as much.

I don't know much about Lenovo's customer service and support. That's definitely something you want to check up on when buying a laptop.
