I have built a home PC about 6 months ago. Here are the specs

AMD2 processor FM1
MSI motherboard - MSI A75MA-G55 AMD A 75 FM1
8GB 1333 MHZ MEMORY
500 GB HD

First 6 months went ok until, I installed a wireless pci card. I took off the metal plate slot to install the pci card then carelessly left the metal plate to cover an open slot forgetting to screw it in place. My wife then moved the pc to another place and placing it on the floor. Our floor is carpeted. My son, whom I built the computer for, turned it on and first he sees the blue screen of death, then after restarting the machine several times, there is virtually no display at all on the screen. I then got the HD and and connected it to my PC and it booted for a while until the Windows 7 animation logo starts and freezes. I then backed up the files inside the hard to another HD storage and formatted and installed a clean OS of Win 7. It looked ok on my pc. I then transferred the HD to my son's pc and started it. Still no go...no display on the screen. MY msi MB has a built in video display card. I am suspecting that the MB is damaged because of the metal plate that I failed to scrw back fell on the MB and probably did some damage or the fact that the PC was on carpetted floor and static electricity is the culprit or a combination of both. Please advise what to do.

thanks

Do you know the Name of the Cpu? Does it gives you any error with the blue screen?, Its possible it discharged static on the motherboard. Do you have 2 Sticks of ram?. Does the computer Starts but gives no video signal?

Yes the PC runs but I virtually see no display at all except for flicking blue line streaks

I have already replaced my son's pc with a new 600W power supply as I found out that the 500W that he has is underpoered. But see my previous post of what is currently happening. Very frustrated now =(
