I recently brought my desktop, I knows it's old etc but it'd perfect for me and all I could afford, so please don't take the piss. It's a optiplex 7800, intel e6750, but now when I load it up I get a blue screen and the fans make a lot of noise, I tried cleaning the fans etc but still nothing ? Can you help me please on how I can fix this ? Please I really want to fix it here is a video of the problem. Thanks for your time

Are you getting any error code? Can you start windows or does this happen from the start?, Did the problem originated when you moved the pc from somewhere?. how old is your pc, its looks to me that you are either having an Overheating problem or a faulty psu.

I just checked all Optiplex models - there are no Optiplex 7800, may be HP, check exact model first.
Noise is fan in enclosure, like power supply or CPU cooler.

I need exact model to even start thinking, please.

which one is yours from this link http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-search.html?tab=1#/qry...

If you don't have any paper left, look for the sticker on the case.

Try sticking your ear close to CPU fan or PSU, which one?

Have you dusted/cleaned you CPU heatsink? Compressed air is a good thing.
However, since there is no signal, I am start thinking about PSU - no power to motherboard.
This PC is out of warranty I guess, correct?
Have you tried HP forums http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktops-and-Workstations/...

A few answers please, prior to making decision about buying new PSU?
Specifically, identify your exact form factor from the list in the beginning of my reply.

You next.

Is fan still working? Good fix anyway.

Lets not focus on the screen, but on power button look at this manual http://bizsupport2.austin.hp.com/bc/docs/support/Suppor... go to Troubleshooting without diagnostics, choose first Power problems and than Display problems, anything looks the same?

Fans are working fine, none of this apples to me, basically when I click the power button the fans etc load up after about 5 seconds, then they go off for maybe 2 seconds then they load up for good and stay on into I turn the computer off, I get no red lights or beeps etc, only thing I don't get is a signal, I have tried two TVs with VGA ports, and two VGA leads, maybe I was thinking trying a VGA to DVI adapter and trying the DVI port on the desktop ? See if that works need to wait to get a adapter first ? Thanks for the help btw
