So i've read from some articles that motherboard makers set the cores to run at the highest possible turbo settings for each core by default which is considered a overclock. Now my cores are set to auto and are 3.8, 3.8, 3.7 and 3.6. My question is how do I set them to default and should I be worried at all of this? I'm running on a stock cooler and haswell runs hot so. I checked cpu-z and on idle the i5 4670 is running at 800 mhz and when under full load runs at 3.8ghz.

I've figured out how to disable the turbo, but i'm not seeing much difference in temps. at idle right now i'm getting 34-38 c and playing games 72-75 c. It was pretty much the same when it would boost to 3.8. I guess my question is, does having turbo on effect the voltage or temp?
