Hello,

I was currently looking at a PC to render in 3ds Max. I was wondering what could be a good deal, considering that I want something that can perform well. Any ideas where I should concentrate my dollars? Can this be done under 1200$ ?

Thanks

You might be able to squeeze in a 6 core. But 10 sec in mental ray is probably impossible depending on your lighting complexity. What do you have now and how long does it take?

I'm using Mental Ray with optimised settings with medium heavy polycount for scenes, so about a million polygons so I need to be able to navigate the scene without too much hassle and having less than 5-10 seconds to render per frame.
