Off to buy gaming rig unless you tell me otherwise

Solution
I would change the ram in two ways: 1) 1600 is fast enough and 2) get ram without heat spreaders - they will interfere with your 212.

If it were me, I would pick a different psu if corsair is your brand. IMO, the builder series is not up to corsair's usual high standards.

Cheers mark,
Do you think its a solid build other than that? Also what ps would you go for... I do dabble in 3d modelling which I forgot to mention which is why I was leaning towards the ram.. cheers

Sorry I took so long to get back to you. Just moved into new house and sorting boxes, etc is a pain.

The rest of the build is fine, especially if you like to mess with 3d as the multicore will really help that. I still think 1600 is plenty fast for what you will be doing, unless you get heavy into 3d and/or video rendering. If you think that's in your future, then by all means go for the faster ram - just stay away from spreaders.

As far as the power supply goes, my favorites are XFX and Seasonic. For XFX, either of THESE would be great - the one that is more expensive is modular (which I like). For Seasonic, THIS or THIS would be my choices. If you want to stick with corsair, THIS is a great psu.

I will ALWAYS spend a little more on my psu - I would rather invest an extra $20-40 in a quality psu than risk losing my m/b, cpu and gpu if the psu goes south.
