gaming system

I'm ending up gonna pick up these 3 items:

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 990FX AM3+ Motherboard - $150
Patriot Viper 3 Series DDR3 8GB (2x4GB) - $72
need a HDD around 500-1TB , whatevers cheapest, prob only need 500GB

going to fry's electronics in a few hours! can anyone find me a good hard drive less than $100? preferably $50-80

Solution
I personally like the WD Black. I've had 2 of them and been very happy with them. Fast for a mechanical drive. Not the most quiet, but your fans will probably be much louder. Get the 1TB, HDDs are cheap right now, should be around $80. A 500GB wouldn't be much cheaper, just about 5 dollars less.

Are you planning on installing 2 video cards on SLI or Crossfire? If you don't, you could change your motherboard and buy a 970 instead of a 990 (that's mainly the only difference). You could save some money there, you can get a 970 for a little bit under $100 (Asrock Extreme3).

If you spend those $50 and are willing to put an extra 20-30, you could also get a nice SSD to use for booting and main programs and the HDD for main storage and stuff...

If you go this way you might buy the WD Blue instead of the black. There's the extra $20-30 you need. Otherwise the WD Black is a good performer.
