So, basically my girlfriend and I got nearly identical laptops, the only difference is hers has a little bit more ram. We have the same processor and gpu, but when we game together, every game lags on hers, where it runs perfectly on mine, and it's been this way from the start. We both have the notebook version of the Ivy Bridge i7 with the Nvidia Geforce 640m. We have done numerous hardware checks and driver updates, but hers still lags and mine runs perfectly. Everything matches up, but our systems act differently. Can anyone help out?

Differences in software? You probably have different things running in the background which can cause differences in game performance. How big is the performance difference anyway?

Another thing to note is that, not all hardware will be created perfectly every single time. There will be minor (and rarely major) differences in each chip produced, which causes these performance differences. This is one reason why when people OC their pc's the get different results even though they may be using exactly the same model of cooler, mobo, RAM etc. Eg, I can OC to 4.7GHz with my 3570K not going over 75°C, while my friend can only get to 4.5GHz with same cooler.
