Hey guys,

I'm interested in getting a ssd because my pc is becoming terribly slow. Do you guys think the price will drop in the near future? And could you guys recommend a 128gb-256gb that is best for my buck because I'm on a $150 budget.

Solution
A ssd will only improve pgm/data load times. It does nothing for a sluggish PC otherwise. You probably need to give your PC a good "housecleaning". Run CCleaner and do the Clean and Registry portions both. You may have to run it more than once if your system is badly garbage-ed up. Registry errors cause crashes and junk files waste space. Both can waste resources.

The next thing to check is how many processes you have going on in the back ground. See how many items you have checked in System Configuration/Start Up.

You might be able to get a Samsung 830 [256GB] for $150 soon.
The write speeds usually don't bother anyone as the source can rarely keep up with the SSD in the first place; it still has quite good random 4K I/O performance too.

If they don't come down in price, then by all means get a 128GB and save yourself $50.

Thanks for the feedback! My only question is that is this CCleaner reliable and virus free?

Absolutely safe and virus free. I have been using it for many years as have many other folks here. As long as you get the download from Piiform and not some 3rd party site, you have nothing to worry about. Check out the reviews listed on the Piriform site if you need more verification.

Sweet! I'll try it out! But I have seen some reviews that Auslogics BoostSpeed is better. What do you think?
