Can't get past BIOs after replacing HDD with SSD

So after I replaced my HDD with my SSD I turned on my laptop and it just keeps taking me to the bios screen after i exit or restart it.

Do I have to migrate the windows 8 OS onto the SSD for it to work?

The SSD is a Samsung 840 btw

Yes, some kind of OS needs to be installed.

Is there a SATA to USB Cable I could get from Frys?

Yeah that would work fine I just recommended the enclosure so you could continue to use your hard drive.
