I have a netgear fs105 switch that i have been using for almost a year now as a way to get on the internet at my work using my laptop. This is the only thing it has ever been used for, three nights a week for 8 hr shifts. I went to use it tonight and plugged it in and.... nothing, no power light, no internet, nothing.

Is the poor little guy done for? Is it common for these to just stop working? There's no reset button or anything on the device, its just the most basic of switches.

I guess I'm wondering if I should be happy with a years use out of it and just buy another one or if there's another brand anyone can suggest that might give me a longer life. I was under the impression that Netgear's ProSafe line up was one of the better switches.

Just looking for suggestions advice, thanks.

Switches are cheap... Buy a new one.

The power adapter may have gone bad, they can go bad before the actual switch itself does. See if there is another outlet and if you don't get any lights, then you know there's a problem.

Yea, checked outlets right away, priced out an AC adapter and then found a Belkin switch at local box store on clearance for $13USD and figured I go that route. Bought two of them.

Thanks for the help.
