I just bought a gigabyte 990fxa-ud3 mobo and completely forgot about my optical drive that uses IDE.

The new mobo only has Sata connectors.

What can I do ? I can't install windows in the meantime without my optical drive :( .

So disappointed can't use it tonight ! Lol

You will just have to buy SATA optical drive. They are cheap anyway, and programmed to last certain amount of working hours so you have to keep buying them...

Many thanks ! Can you find any cheap on Walmart.com? I would run down there now and get one

I don't know about Walmart, I live in Serbia, and here the optical drives cost 20 - 25 dollars.

Ahh , okay ! Thanks though

I am also curious what these converters are called, I'm having a hard time finding them on the Internet.

Money is tiiiiight, so preferably I'd like to buy a converter, assuming that a converter (whatever it's called) is cheaper than buying a new drive , which I don't want to do if it's more expensive xD

You could just buy a IDE to SATA converter, that should set you back less than a new drive.
