I have a Acer 5720 (icl50) (no it doesn't have a z or zg behind it) and i am willing to upgrade the cpu to maybe i5-4670. Is it possible to change it? Because i don't really want to spend $500 or higher just for a computer on gaming.

Well mostly depends of the chipset. I believe you have Intel Crestline-GML GL960 and CPU socket P. This chipset supports processors with Intel Speed Step technology and after update of your bios to version 1.45 you will be able to support Penryn core CPU-s with 800 MHz FSB max , which in your case the best CPU upgrade you can have is Intel Core 2 Duo T9500 : http://ark.intel.com/products/33918/Intel-Core2-Duo-Processor-T9500-6M-Cache-2_60-GHz-800-MHz-FSB
Maximum RAM is 3 GB working at 667 MHZ (Even if you put at 800 MHz ). However the FSB works at 800 MHz max.
Good luck ! ;)
