Hi all,

I have never custom built a computer myself. I have added drives and cards in the past. In 2010 I bought a custom built system from cyberpower computers. I replaced the power supply early this year, and my friend told me if I could do that it would be easy to build my own system.

Now recently the motherboard has gone bad in my system, so I am looking at a replacement for the current Asus m4a77td motherboard. I am looking at am3+ motherboards, as I may want to upgrade the processor in the future.

I am currently looking at Asus m5a97 motherboards, but I want to make sure it is compatible with my current hardware:

AMD PHENOM II X6 1090T
2 GB DDR3 PC3 PC1333 x2
ASETEK 510LC 120MM WATERCOOLER
CASE FAN 120 MM
12-IN-ONE INTERNAL CARD READER
SILVER X-DREAMER3 BLUE LED FAN MID
ZOTAC NVIDIA GTX 260 CORE 216 896MB P
THERMALTAKE 600 WATT POWER SUPPLY

There are several versions of this motherboard. I use the computer for video encoding and Star Wars Battlefront 2. Although I want to upgrade the graphics card in another year or so when Star Wars Battlefront 3 comes out.

I have been looking specifically at the m5a77 R2.0

I will appreciate any feedback or other suggestions, thanks!
