it depends do you want to burn it fast or slow lol .. most optical drives will play any games fine these day as most of the data is stored on the hard drives so thats not an issue

note i did give a link. but i mean .. with a dvd writer.. you know.. its pretty obvious... the higher the write speed the faster it writes.. those options let him choose what fits his budget best ..
