From GTX 660TI to GTX 670

Solution
Its not a cost effective upgrade, if you have a decent PSU(650W+) and SLI capable motherboard it would make much more sense to SLI with another GTX660ti.

Usually I change my video card every 2 or 3 years, by doing so I usually double my performance with each upgrade. But from a 660-Ti to a 670, the little performance gain might not justify the price. May I ask why you want to upgrade? Do you have any issues with your 660-Ti?

I would wait for next generation, nvidia series 800 next year maybe? But if you absolutely need to upgrade now, at least I would follow swilczak advice and wait for the 760 to be available in your area. As he said, the 760 performs right on par with the 670 and costs 100$ less.

*** Edit: Yeah, as others pointed out, the 770 would be a more logical upgrade, this would give you a more significant performance boost compared to the 660-Ti, but of course they cost more. But as I said initially, if you can postpone your upgrade to later, you'll have more options and price drops.

According to this it beats the 660ti in 3d mark, far cry 3, crisis 3, battlefield 3 and metro last night, but not by much and it certainly isn't worth buying for such a small increase.

NO performance issue but a friend is willing to swap his 670 for just an additional $50. Not worth it?

I've seen it loose to the 660ti on a few sites now, depending on the game. So not really what I would call an upgrade.

I never called it an upgrade either I was just basically saying that if you are going to buy a 670, you might as well just buy a 760 and save $100 because they are pretty much the same thing.

Save your money or buy another 660ti and SLI otherwise all your other ideas are not really worth it.

3570k is really a great chip for gaming and the others you listed are lesser cpu's performance wise..

An i3??? Do you REALLY think OP has an SLI capable board?.

OP, what motherboard and power supply do you have?

And im a baby head with hurt feelings ROFL so we're even?

NEVER... Kidding... Sure. :)

Not significantly, no.

As for the PSU, we need the EXACT model of the PSU to determine that.

it's a HEC 700w PSU

Need more than that unfortunately. If you can post a picture of the wattage sticker, that would be the easiest way.
