Hello
I have had a problem for a while now. I'm going to elaborate as much as I can so please bear with me.
My old HDD, became unusable, so I set up a new one with a fresh installation of windows 7 (64bit). Everything seemed to be fine till I reattached my old HDD, because I wanted to see if I could get some of my files back. Since then the new HDD will not start randomly getting stuck either at the 'starting windows' screen or sometimes it will not even show the screen through which I can get to bios, that is, on startup monitor remains black.
Sometimes I can manage to turn it on through safe mode, and after then it might even turn on a time or two normally, but then again it fails. During one of these successful starts I scanned both of the HDDs with Avast, Malwarebytes and another program, which I can't recall at the moment. With avast I did a boot scan during which it found a few suspicious files, all of which I quarantined, however, none of the HDDs performed as normal. I also scanned both disks for errors with the built in windows tool, with one I got from WD homepage (as the initial HDD is WD) and with the SeaTools (not sure of the name). None of these showed any errors. On the new HDD I also performed the 'sfc /scannow' command in the command prompt, which also did not find any errors.
Basically all of the tools I've used have shown that both of the HDDs don't have errors and any viruses and potentially dangerous programs have been quarantined, yet still the HDDs will not cooperate with me.
I have re-installed windows several times on the new HDD, yet after I attach my old drive, the new one quickly becomes unusable. I might accept that I will not get my old files back, yet I still need to fix the new HDD.
Lastly, I copied a reoccurring critical error from the system events log, which I think, is the one that happens each time my PC fails to start.

Does anyone has any ideas. I'm quite annoyed of installing and re-installing the system over and over again. Now I just want my computer back.
Thanks for your time. :)

Seems the issue is your old drive, stop trying to attach it and it looks like the system will be fine. You can try using an external enclosure for the old drive to try to get the files off it. From what you wrote, the only time you have issues is when you plug in the seond drive, so stop trying to plug it in. Or try a different cable or port on the motherboard.

I will not be attaching my previous HDD anymore, and, at the moment, it is not attached.
I could probably re-install windows and it would run fine, however, as I mentioned, none of the
tools or programs used have indicated any errors on the new HDD. The current configuration has not even
been connected to the internet and the only programs installed are Avast and Malwarebytes. If it indeed has 'caught'
something from my old HDD, I would like to try and verify what is the problem.
