Hi all,

So I want to build a new PC by scratch. This is my first serious independent build so I would want confirmation that the parts I am buying are ok. I've also have a couple of questions.

Parts:

Now for the questions...

I have my router in another room so I can't connect to my broadband through a ethernet cable. How would I sort this problem? I currently have a a USB detector but I think I want something a bit high quality to get a good stable connection for gaming.

I really want to get Windows 7 as I could always upgrade later. Any links to where I can buy it for around £100?

All help is much appreciated.

Thank you.
-------------------
BUDGET: £600-800 I could possibly stretch to £1000 but prefer not to.

Oops, I will update my budget now.

Some of the links for the OS takes me to pages where it says SP1. Is a service pack the full OS or just patches?

As for the Mobo is looks pretty cool. The reason I was getting the Sniper was because it fits with my theme of Green and Black :3.

I'm checking the specs and don't see a huge difference between the cards but it's £20 so I will swap it out.

Thanks, and do you know the answer to my second question? =]

Is the 3570K better than the 4th Gen I was planning to get? I might stick with the stock fan until I water cool the PC.

Thanks for your answer. =]

For now I don't really want to get too deep into overclocking right now since I heard there is a risk or ruining components. However do you think it's worth upgrading to the i5 4670K?

The case the OP posted originaly looks adequate, Front , rear, and side fan space is a must. I would shy away from LED fans that might annoy you, but if that isn't going to be an issue then don't worry about it.

As for the Video Card, the 660 isn't bad, but look at this site:

http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/

See the high end list. This will give you a good idea of the price vs perfomance of these cards. For example, the GTX 760 is rated rather high, but its price tag is only $245 for example. Have that card myself.

That CPU is what, quad core? And 3Ghz? Not bad, I have a processor with the same specs though its AMD. But, with those specs you're falling behind. If you're looking for something that will run well currently, that CPU with 8GB of ram is pretty good. But I would consider upgrading to a six or eight core CPU, RAM wise you may want to consider adding more later right now you're probably ok, 32GB support leaves you plenty of room later on.

Nice mobo selection btw.
