Nvidia 760 versus Radeon 7950

Hello,

I am looking to upgrade my current OEM graphics card with something a bit more powerful. The current card is a AMD ATI 7570 w/ 650 mhz base clock. My CPU is a intel i7 3770 running @ 3.4 ghz. My price range is $200-$300 and the two possible candidates are:

GTX 760

and

Radeon 7950 3GB 384-bit

I am planning to upgrade for Battlefield 4 (graphics intensive video game) and I cannot decide whether to go with the 760's higher clock speed or the 7950's larger memory and larger memory interface bandwidth. I am open to other graphics card suggestions. I will not be overclocking.

Get the GTX760, its cheaper and XFX AMD cards are so crap this generation, run damn hot. Unless you overclock and can find an HD7950 for under 260$.

760 is 5% stronger. This is an average calculation from the latest titels, you can go through the pages to see diffrence in performs in induvidual games.

Hello.
GTX760 is the obvious answer here since it performs better and its cheaper.
But there are some rumors that AMD is planning to give battlefield 4 with some of their GPUs.
So 7950 might be cheaper from 760 if this is true.

760! Even if the 7950 has a larger bandwidth, the 760 is more efficient with its 256bit bandwidth. They perform very very close to each other, but the 760 is cheaper, so get that one.

I really don't see how you could swap. Love me some HD7950 OCing.

Go and get MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC $259.99. It has one of the best cooler and a great factory o/c.

The reviews show that the gigabyte windforce makes the coolest (temp) cards, but also noisy. MSI and ASUS I think are on par.

MSI uses the same cooler as GTX770 and GTX780 which are both revolutionary when it comes at temps and noise.

I care less about noise from the video card than a 2 year old about his 401k since I will be using headphones. I hope to not have to replace my case and fans since I have the OEM Optiplex 9010 case, which has 1 rear fan!

The GTX 760 is faster has better drivers and is cheaper and it comes bundled with a game now and AMD doesn't. Nvidia for the hat-trick in this case! For $40 less you could get this model.
