Hi,
I'm building a custom PC and (as I have a very low income, and am impatient :) ) I am ordering my parts one at a time. My 4770K and GD65 Mobo just got here today. Unfortunately, I have no RAM and PSU to test the components.
So, my question is: If once I get my PSU and RAM and I test the system and find a component to be DOA, can I still get a replacement after 30 days? They can't just sell me a broken component and expect me to keep it, right?
Ordering everything of Newegg BTW.

No, That's just not how it works. You aren't looking at it from the other side at all.

Unfortunately, If anybody could return 'DOA' components at any time, there would be a huge loop hole for faking it. 'Broken' is a very vague term, and can be achieved in all kinds of ways. The 30 day period is grace given explicitly so you can be sure your parts are as expected. After 30 days Newegg will (reasonably, in my mind) consider the deal closed.

Still, You may be able to contact the Manufacturer and claim warranty on a bad part, but the terms are so-so in most cases. You will probably have to pay return shipping & have a few weeks to wait, etc.

Thanks, I was hopping that even after 30 days a manufacture's warranty would cover it. I mean, why wouldn't it?

You will still get the manufacturer's warranty. In this case, the 4770K amd motherboard is 3 years.
The big problem for piecemeal ordering is that you may change your mind on sime parts. For instance, if your purpose is gaming, you may decide that a 4670K would be better.
Or, since prices come down over time, your early sale might not be so good later.

Manufacturer's warranty does cover it, it'll just be more costly to claim.

If you make a DOA return to Newegg they will send you a return label & get you a new one. Often times a Manufacturer will start asking you questions, make you test your system, etc before they will issue a RMA number. Even then they will probably have you ship it at your own cost and etc., that's all.
