Hey guys, I'm getting pretty sick of my fx8320's stock fan and I'm ready to upgrade to an aftermarket heatsink. Here's the relevant specs:

fx 8320
msi 970a-g43 motherboard
corsair 500r
corsair vengeance 2x4gb ram

What is the best cpu cooler (reluctant to do water cooling as I don't intend to do any crazy overclocks) I can get that won't interfere with my ram. The dimm slot closest to the cpu is open if that helps. I'd like to get a dual tower heatsink like a noctua nh-d14 etc, but I doubt it'll fit with my huge heat spreaders. I don't intend to get more ram, so if it takes up that first dimm slot it's no big deal.

I got the ram on sale when I was close to my budget and I would really prefer not to replace it.

Thanks for any help.

I can't answer what the BEST will be, but I do know that the CoolMaster 212 variants hang over the first DIMM slot on the Gigabyte 990fxa series, blocking the tall heatsinks of the Vengeance memory. The remaining 3 slots have plenty of breathing room. If you aren't worried about filling that first slot on your board, the Toms Hardware go-to air cooler would have to be the CoolMaster Super Duper 212+ Hyper Evo Maxxx etc.. fans (~$30, also a bargain)

I know you said your reluctant about water cooling but the Antec H20 620 is nice and compact, and everything is already connected and filled. All you do is mount it and power it up, I have one in my system and the water block is so small it doesnt interfere with anything at all. Plus for 60 bucks you cant go wrong. Not to mention it comes with mounting hardware for every intel and AMD chip since 2005
