I've been having computer issues and I think it may be the CPU. I have an Intel i7-960, which uses the 1366 socket. I want to test if the CPU is the problem without having to get another 1366 CPU. I've heard that testing devices exist, but I don't know where to find one. I live in the chicagoland area, but I'm willing to ship my CPU elsewhere for testing.

http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-1748185/computer-boot-access-bios.html

In addition, I disconnected everything from the motherboard but the CPU and power to check for motherboard beep codes. No beeps. I bought my computer from cyberpower pc, and they said the only thing it could still be was the CPU.

I know what it is, lol

But if the board is dead, PCI-e would be dead too. making this kind of testing pointless.

I too suspected mobo issues (its a gigabyte g1.sniper), so I sent it in under gigabyte warranty and replaced it. Unless gigabyte lied to me, it should be functional. It itn't even POSTing, so I doubt that there is a BIOS issue or that it is the HDD. Also, I replaced the PSU.

Just ordered the mobo tester. Thanks alot! Hopefully this will put my problems to rest. Any suggestions for what to tell gigabyte before I close the thread?

I got a POST testing card and it's cycling between the numbers
29 00 83 10
This code isn't listed in the mobo manual, and I haven't had luck looking it up online

What does it mean?
